Company

Competitor
You can create competitor records to track how other businesses in your industry impact your sales.

If you use NetSuite or NetCRM and have the Opportunities feature enabled, selecting a competitor on an opportunity record lets everyone working with that opportunity know who they are competing with. By being aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the competition, sales reps can make educated offers and close more deals.

Customer
A customer is an entity that has a financial relationship with your company. Upon creating a customer you can select whether they are an individual with a first and last name, or a company with a single company name.
CRM
CRM (Customer Relationship Management) is an information industry term for methodologies, software, and usually Internet capabilities that help an enterprise manage customer relationships in an organized way.

Dynamic group
A static group is a form of group that can include a set of employees, contacts, customers, partners or vendors that can change. Membership of a dynamic group can change to include anyone that meets the group's criteria.

Estimate
An estimate is a prepared summary of the costs necessary to complete a job that includes a profit. Estimates can be converted directly into a Sales Order or an Invoice.

Group
A group is a set of employees, contacts, customers, partners or vendors. See also Dynamic Group and Static Group.

Individual
An individual is a customer who is not associated with a company. First and Last names are used (as well as title). Individuals can also be contacts.

Lead
A lead is type of contact. A lead precedes a prospect which precedes customer. Leads may become a customer.

Opportunity
An opportunitiy in NetSuite is a record of negotiations with a prospect.

Partner
A partner is a company you have a business agreement with who isn't a customer or a vendor.
Prospect
A prospect is a type of contact. Prospects follow a lead and precede being a customer. Prospects may start life as a lead, but when an opportunity is created they become a prospect.

Revenue Recognition is a feature that enables NetSuite users to amortize revenue from your sales.

Static group
A static group is a form of group that can include a set of employees, contacts, customers, partners or vendors that does not change.

A vendor is a company or person you purchase goods and services from. Vendor records track information about your vendors and enable you to view past transactions and communications with them.
